How to vid + unsure mechanic + reman = frustration

Upon attempting to reinstall my motor, I realize that I'm missing numerous parts associated with the water pump housing: the pully, sensors that go in the back of the housing, the bracket that goes on top (and it's 2 bolts). The bolt that holds the braket that holds the alt to the housing is instead replaced with a stud that isnt long enough.

When taking my motor out, I was following Bruce Turrentine's vid. Upon receiving my long block, my mechanic (at the time) swapped some things from the new reman to the old (why, I don't know). I wish I would've rebuilt my motor, rather than having my mechanic "save" me some time and dollars, so I could've avoided this whole middle man/extra variable.

This thread is more of a vent/rant post. These inconsistancies along with the fact that I have to share the garage with incompetent women (rearranging my parts, that were once neatly stored away) is a true headache and is so discouraging. Has anyone else encountered these problems? Any advice for a down, broke fd enthusiast?

Friggin whack! Thanks for takin the time to read this

at this point, 1000 seems indesposable. at the same time, this has been and still is quite a learning and growing opportunity for me. tears, sweat and blood > 1000? hmmm...

Sounds like you need some of these...

I spent quite some time digging this pic out of my archives... I knew I had it somewhere, on one of my computers... It's from an old build thread on here of someone who was having problems similar to yours.

hey,

When you turn in a reman, it must have the waterpump housing assembly to be accepted as a core.

He prolly swapped it on (sounds like the parts you are having trouble with...I have all of them if you need it...) so he could turn the motor in.
