Question How to stop the bird in the hood?

Ok the problem is that when the hood is closed and the car on sometimes it idles funny and makes the hood shake a little cosign it to make a continues bird like chirp or you can call it a squeak. I heard to stop it just install some washers but where exactly do you put the washers? Or if anyone has a better idea let me know or a different way they fixed this on there Fd? Thanks

I know they are know for this Fd's that is.

what kind of hood do you have.. u should lightly put double sided tape on high rising components and drop the hood. if the double sided tape sticks to the hood something needs to be adjusted

check all of the bolts that go to the hood and to the frame. Same thing happened to me and it was just a slighly loose bolt where the hood hinges to the frame.

I have the stock hood. If I put a little weight on the hood while closed it will stop the bird but a soon as I let off it starts back up?

Check the bump stops, if yours are badly worn buy a new set from Ray at Malloy...

but i doubt its those.

i think its your hood lock thing not aligned properly an tightened... or your actual hood nuts... its gotta be something touching the hood or the hood itself.

Bump stops cause this noise in most situations, try putting a piece of tape over the bump stops and see if the noise changes during idle...

I just wrap some electrical tape around the little bar that goes into the hood latch, lol. Stopped any rattle I had.

I did 2 things to stop mine from doing that:
1. Grease on the latch bar
2. Teflon tape on the hood where it contacts the rubber stops

The grease on the latch bar was the most important - it has to be reapplied every few months. I didn't use tape there because it wears thru and the adhesive makes a gummy mess.
