How screwed is my dash?

For those of you who have taken apart your dash... I am trying to mount the Banzai Racing pfc commander holder on my 95 rx7. The plastic trim piece that the holder mounts to is only being held by the bottom screw to the dash. The top tab that it is supposed to snap into is broken. My question is, is the broken part on my dash, connected to the dash entirely or is this part just a broken piece that can be easily replaced?

you didnt have to drop the whole glove box. if you squeeze the sides, the tabs will collapse in enough for you to swing the whole thing down.

what year is your car, im pretty sure the 93 holder doesnt mount into that

My car is a 1995 LHD. The issue is the broken tab that fits behind the glove box trim piece. I removed the glovebox to get a better look.

I am trying to mount this:

The trim piece he is drilling into on my car is loose because it only has one point of contact (the bottom screw). It does not appear to be sturdy enough to hold the arm.

understood. getting a piece of aluminum and making a little L bracket should fix that problem. make an L and attach one end to the dash and then drill the holder in the other end like stock.

A little confused. Where exactly would I drill the L bracket into?

Hopefully this makes sense. Half would go behind the dash then the 2 Xs are going to be self tapping screws or rivets. The other half of the bracket will poke over the side and the commander bracket will go into that. You could use self tappers or even nut serts if you wanted.
