How to remove oil coolers?

Just take loose the banjo bolt at the engine and then remove the bolts holding the cooler into place.
I think the line actually has a clip keeping the hoses in place as well that you have to remove.
You should be able to get it out in 30-40 min

Pretty painless. Pull the clips at the cooler and wiggle the hoses off. You do have to be careful with the fins. Real easy to flatten them in that tight space. I just removed mine two years ago. Straightened all the fins, cleaned out all the dead bugs and rocks. Reinstalled with mesh for protection. I used the mesh sold for keeping leaves out of gutters.
how much oil do i need to get into the engine after removing the coolers?
i think this will be more than the usual quantity during the scheduled oil+filter change

From the factory service manual, total "dry" system 4.9 L. It breaks down like this:
each oil cooler holds 0.85 L
oil pan holds 3.9 L
oil filter holds 0.17 L (though this will vary depending on filter).
