How to realease fuel pressure
JUst want to make sure this is right. start engine, remove circuit opening relay, after engine stalls turn off ignition, install circuit opening relay. Is there anything else i should do. I'm going to change fuel filter in a minute. Are there any things i should know before i do this. What tools i will need?

It's also a good idea to remove the gas cap. The pressure in the tank (the "hiss" when you open the cap up) can push gas out of the lines as well.
It's really not too bad of a job, especially if you have a range of pliers handy. I can do one in under 30 minutes easy. If it's your first time, give yourself plenty of time and go slow - when you get rushed or impatient, that's when mistakes happen.
Good luck,
Dale

well I found the fuel filter, theres no way in hell I'm trying to take that thing off I can barely see a part of the it. I cant see which bolts its connected to or get my hands anywhere near it so I give up. Trouble is the mazda dealership wont do it either. 1st they said it would cost $125 for labor then they said there not doing it. Oh well.

How many times have we told you to take that poor car to a ROTARY shop, there's 3-4 good shops in the Bay Area. Either that or sell the car to someone who can maintain it! /rant off

Yes, you pretty much have to work blind. Even if you get a good look at it, it's too dark to see well.
It can be done - the hardest part for me was loosening the hose from the filter that had been clamped together for years. Have some bolts handy or tapered plugs that you can use to jam in the fuel line so that you don't dump loads of extra fuel on your skin.

finished in 2-3 hrs. Hardest part was getting pliers on the hose clamps. Having a really short pair of pliers
and long skinny arms and fingers is key. Oh and the car runs a hell of alot smoother now, I think it was first time fuel filter had ever been changed car has 92k on it. And no more delivering pizza in fd. Now i only drvie her at night on the freeway. And the fat chick is not allowed in fd anymore.
