How rare and how much are rolling chassis?

Meaning a good condition chassis with pretty much all intake but engine and trans etc. I think it'd might be cheaper to buy a rolling chassis and put in the engine and trans in my self with some friends.. Opinions?

well. I payed 13500 for mine if you can keep pricing around or under that with modded engine and trans. go for it. that will also help with the prob of poping the engine in a month. new happy engine will last longer... most of the time.

well theres fd roilling chassis with even a blown motor going for 5 grand
so if you can just rebuild the engine for about 2-3 thousand...your all set with a good running fd for at most 8 thousand

Most people dont have the time and would rather go the plun-n-play route. And, where theres smoke; theres fire. A lack of engine is not a good way to start a tab with a car, that is unless youre th eproject car type.

I agree with what Barban said, most people don't have the time to dedicate to such a project.

With that being said, if you are interested, I have a friend who owns a black '93 manual and it is without motor and tranny. The interior is there, but it is worn. Also, missing the rear clip (should be pretty easy to pick one up).

If you are interested, pm me and we can talk price, etc. I also have a few pics I can send to you.

If you haven't work on the car before, you'll have a VERY tough time finding all the parts and getting things together. A car isn't just a chassis and a motor - there are a zillion little parts. "Rolling chassis" can mean a totally gutted shell to a car that doesn't have a motor in it.

It really depends. Some cars are basket cases, some just need some TLC or a motor. It really depends on the car.
