Well, noone needs to jump to conclusions yet, but I would say KABOOM MOTHER F****R! Sorry, but your engine could be gone. Get a compression check. That is the way my engine died, it would just die going down the road. Another question, who in the living hell runs 26 PSI on their rotary? You running methanol or something?

Sorry for my immature post, but it still sounds like engine. Get a compression check! If compression is good then maybe something electrical.

Do you have a turbo timer that will read the voltage the battery is putting out? If so, does it look normal?

I had an electrical issue where if I pressed the brake pedal or lowered the e-brake, the car would die. I dunno if it's possible on a clutch pedal, but maybe there's hope. Also a time where it was giving symptoms like yours and all that was wrong was my alarm fuse was blown and wouldn't let it turn over.

I guess it could be a lot of things. Electronics suck (IMO), so I'd start with the compression check before you get into all of that.

Good luck

How long have you owned the car? Who tuned your Power FC? << How long ago was the PFC tuned? Is it possible that your settings caused the motor to flood?

Have you checked other obvious things such as the MAP sensor? Fuses? Vacuum lines?

There is a Compression Test how-to on the 'FAQ for 3rd Gen' sticky, go look it up.

If you're still in High School, you need to take an auto shop class while they're still free.

my friend with an fc just taught me how to do a compression test on the Rx7 but if there was a problem with my ecu would it cause it to just die like that or is there something really wrong like a seal. when i try to start it I think you smell gas my dad dose not think its gas but it could be flooded

checked fuses vacumelines the all were not blown and vacume lines were still tight map sensor too.

can a rotary be running to rich that it would foul a plug? or is that the two stroke coming out in me? ? ?

Yes, it's very possible for rotaries to foul plugs. When was the last time your spark plugs were replaced? It's probably a good idea to replace them every 5k miles.

I had a very similar problem. I had a very difficult time getting my car to start. When it would start, the engine would just die while I was driving or it would intermittently shut-off and turn on (if left in gear), lights on the cluster would flicker/blink, and the gauges even went crazy on me one time while I was trying to figure it out. T-shot it down to a bad ground cable, only cost me $4 at Wal-Mart.

Initially, all the grounds checked out good (all were reading 20-40 milliohms). When I double-checked later, I noticed that the readings for one of the grounds would fluctuate quite a bit when I wiggled on the cable. I made sure the ground cable was on tight -- it was. R2'd the ground cable -- problems dissapeared. So check your grounds, and also make sure they are on tight. Good luck.
