what is the proper way to ready a hood for shipping? I have called all around town, and I can't seem to get an answer. any help would be appreciated asap.

Could you get an oversized pallet? That would provide a ton of rigidity. Then you would pack above and below the hood with styrofoam, maybe using a wooden structure on top of the pallet to provide a lot of good structure. Finally, top it all off with cardboard and mark it as fragile.

That would work very good. That's how large servers and storage cabinets are shipped.

That would also be very expensive.
