Angry Got fuel, got spark, won't start!

WTF? A few days ago I noticed that one of my spark plugs was arcing like crazy so I ordered a new set. With the new wires on the car won't start, I checked to make sure that every wire is getting spark. I have fuel pressure, and I can smell the fuel in the intake. I am angry. Just for verification, here is the the spark plug wires were reinstalled.

front coil pack: Front rotor trailing (trailing = top)

Upper center coil pack: Front rotor leading

Lower center coil pack: Rear rotor leading

Rear coil pack: Rear rotor trailing

Todd is angry, please help.

Yes on the sequence, but how did you find out your plugs were arcing?

Fast mustang by the way.

Fast mustang by the way.

I started the car in a dark garage.

I like the mustang, my old lx was faster though.

dont get upset: but make sure the wires are connected properly. push them ontop of the coils as hard as you can. perhaps you didnt make a connection properly.

i changed my wires around 6 months ago. when i tried to start the car, it would crank but wouldnt start. i opened the hood, and redid the wires. this time i pushed them on as hard as i could (actually two of them were crossed too), but in either case it started after that.

did you check your ignition timing?

Thanks for the reply. I tore it apart and pushed all of them down, one of them was not on all of the way. I put it back together and it still wouldn't start. I checked spark on every wire using my timing light. Every wire seemed to have spark. I suppose that I'll re-push them down and re-check the order. I haven't touched my timing so I'm not sure if that would be the problem.

Oh, the wires are Taylors if that makes a difference.

Is it possible that the car is flooded?

It would be quite impressive if my apex seals blew themselves by sitting in the garage .

I actually think that I figured it out. I was troubleshooting some things before I did the spark plug wires and I was shutting the car on and off to do so. According to some article I just read, rotaries are notorious for flooding when being turned on and off without warming up.

I'll keep you guys posted.

thats a fact about flooding.

check the plugs, see if they're fouled. if so lookup the atf trick and get some new plugs. that should do it.

Paul, squirt some all-purpose oil or just some kind of oil into your housings and turn the crank over and over either by hand or by using a socket and ratchet ... it's 19mm if I remember correctly.

mine just sat 8 months, no problems starting. It will sit 6 months of the year over the winter and I don't expect problems.
