How much are your car payments?

How much do you pay per month for your FD? I'm trying to get a rough estimate.

Debt

I pay $402 a month but:

1) Being 25 and never had anything but a student loan (which i payed off already) i needed to build some sort of credit line.

2) I found the car i have been looking for over a year.

3) I payed half in cash and took out a loan for the rest.

4) It sits in the garage (i have another car to drive daily) and whenever i ask why i assumed debt i can justify it by going for a ride.

5) Other then this i dont have any other debt.

I put $10,000 cash down on mine and financed $7,000 for I think 2 or 3 years and payments are $220 a month. I always pay alot more then $220 though. Just did low payments incase something happened, like getting laid off.

*laid off*

0 payment, I always pay cash;-)

always did and always will, even for the business
I only buy something if I have the $ cash
no loan, no credit card bills, no interest all 0
and I sleep soooo good at night without worries

This is not the typical American way but my goal is to retire with 40 and only 6 years left.

$0 here as well. Paid off...

I think my payments were around $360 a month. It's been quite a while, but that was about the range.

It's easy to estimate what your payments might be. Just take the amount of the loan, multiply that by some intrest rate (guess on the high side) say 9%. Take that number and add it to the amount of the loan, and then divide that total by the number of months for the loan.

My credit union wouldn't finance me, so I had to go through the dealer, and got raped on the intrest rate. So until I'm at my job long enough for my credit union to refinance, I'm looking at $400/mo for the next 3.5 years (it was a 5 year loan)

I liked the trade! And I got a great deal since a week after the trade the guy emailed and said the transmission went out on it!!! I was really lucky, I had no idea there were problems with it!
