how much would you pay for this FD???

possibly for sale is a 94 FD w/about 3k miles on rebuilt streetported engine and a brand new xs t04e single kit. it has a full 3 inch exhaust consisting of the xs 3 downpipe, a mindtrain midpipe, and an hks carbon/ti catback. denso intank fuel pump running to 850cc pris/1300cc secs. . . controlled by a FEED adjustable FPR. the ignition is controlled by an msd digital 6 box and routed by racing beat "REDHOT" wires. it has an apexi power fc and commander w/datalogit and the power fc boost control kit. the OMP has the rotaryaviation mod (2cycle oil injection). the reservoir is mounted where the air pump was located and has an oil catch can integrated to its construction for PCV. cooling is handled by a koyo radiator. . . alright. . . im just gonna try to list them all. . . eliminated all emissions and double throttle blades. garfinkle engine torque brace. cusco front strut tower bar. custom made pullies. . . underdriven. mr. c's shortshifter w/mazdaspeed leather shift ****. replaced 5th gear synchro. eibach prokit springs. hawk hp+ brake pads all around. n-tech minibattery. greddy TB elbow. . . theres probably a lot of other crapola too. . . .

the car doesnt run right now as its in the middle of an intercooler install. after that is finished it needs to be tuned. the car comes with a set of kumho ecsta supra tires w/about 5k miles on them. two full sets of hawk hps pads. an apexi gtcore fmic. defi egt and fuel pressure gauges. diy wideband kit. two sets of new b10egv sparkplugs.

so whatcha think guys. . . how much is this car worth. . . AS IS????

I'll trade you straight up, a functioning FD for yours...

Sorry to hear that you're having issues Paul. I'm no car value expert, so I don't even wanna guess a price, but good luck. Get out of debt and get another FD.

rotorbrain, I was in your shoes about 2 months ago. let things cool down for a week or so, and realized all the hard work and most important "time" you have put into the car.
Dont give up. Leave the car alone for a while and save up some more money. Your almost there.

Here's another suggestion.....find something worth $500 and buy a beater car (if you don't have another car already). Then just set the FD aside (put storage insurance or no insurance on it and leave it in your garage) until you get back on your feet.

Will Garfinkle also get him out of debt?

rotorbrain, I hear ya. Do what you need to do. A car is not worth ruining your credit or your life for... There are more important things.

As for the value of your car? I would look somewhere around $20k or a little more. If you aren't in a hurry to sell it, stick a price on it you think is fair and don't budge. If you are in a hurry to sell it, you know you'll have to let it go for much less than it's worth and for what you want to get back out of it.

Bellingham heh? My wife is from Bellingham.

That sucks man, The sad conclusion to every auto is that one day you will have to get rid of it. I would agree at least 24-25k for that setup. If you sell, remember there are other FD's out there.

Hell I sold my FD 3 months ago, and I'm still on the forum, reading stuff

The single turbo FD market is really bad right now, just check out the for sale section. Lane Change and Rx-7addiction both have singles for 18k and they are both running without needing anything.

A lot depedns on the condition of interior/exterior. If the exterior is mint and the interior is in good shape, you might get 17 in its current unmoving state. If you put it back together and tune it well, 18-19 might be a good guess. I don't see you getting more than about 20 anyway you look at it. There are just too many similar or better cars for cheaper. I'm assuming stock wheels and tires. A good set of wheels and tires you can add 1k-1.5k for. I've been in the market for a single for the last month in a half and i recently sold the single back in early july so i've been watching the market for a while and consider my estimates fairly accurate, and as others have said, a lot depends on how long you are willing to wait for the right buyer. If you put your car on ebay, right now as is, again assuming good exterior and interior, i'd be surprised if bids got over 14 or 15k.

So as everyone else has said, you're probably better off finishing the project and enjoying the fruits of your labor. Good luck!

EDIT:
Mileage on the chassis is also a piece of info necessary for an accurate estimate. If you are under 50k you can probably add 500-1000, my estimates were assuming 50k-100k, 100k-130k subtract 500-1000, over 130k on the chassis is just gonna be hard to sell, nobody wants an rx7 with that many miles on it.

Oh boo Paul...You have all those mods on your car and you can't even come up with a "thrifty" way to finish an Intercooler INstall?? **** man, Trust me you want to drive your car when it's perfect before you even think about selling it. Or at least give me a damn ride ****.

hehe, thanks reg!!!!. . . i think. . . hahaha.

man, i never would have thought my car could go for that much money. . . holy cow!!!! i was thinking id be pushing the limit to get 15k out of it in perfect running shape. am i that far off? the chassis has 90k miles on it. . . . and there are more mods than what i listed. . . i just need to sit-down and walk through it. . . haha. . . if thats at all possible.

believe me guys, i would absolutely love to keep this car. . . and if i can get it running. . . there ARE no more mods until im financially ready. i got really stupid for about a year and it definately shows now. the thing about it is. . . if i sell the car. . . i can pay off my debt. how tempting is that. . . .

jeez. . .

I've been in your shoes before (cept my FD was stock when I sold it). I can't tell you how much I missed that car......which is why after 3 years I got another one Which you could do as well, but it just seems like you've invested so much of your time, $ into it, it would suck even more to have to part from it. Good luck either way!

Rotorbrain.. Damn.. i understand your situation.. I'm starting to get myself into slight debt.. but at least the car is paid off..

My advice is... Keep the car.. Get it running.. and than stop putting more money into it.. I know its hard.... because I told that to myself a year ago.. But every month, I buy things.... But at the same time, I'm selling few things I don't need.. So, it kind of balance itself out..

Well, Good luck and hope you keep it instead of selling it.. Especially, I know you haven't enjoyed it in awhile..

Paul, you know where I stand on all of this. However, if your situation is serious enough to warrant you coming on to the boards, then I respectfully change my stance. If you need to sell, then sell. Get the 20-22k and pay off your debt, pick up a beater with the remaining cash, and look forward to a fresh start on things. The winter season is coming and your FD probably wouldn't see too much use anyhow. Let me know if you need to talk some more Bro.
