How much RWHP do you think I am making?

We will see how this thread goes I know I can go back to the dyno but it's pretty expensive (I have spent a lot of money having the car tuned on the dyno) and the results don't add up to me.

Read the entire thread before making a comment...PLEASE...

I have dynoed the car many times. The last time the car made 350 rwhp on a mustang dyno at 15psi. The car has trapped 122mph and turned a 11.55ET. This was done in 80%+ humidity, 16psi and the car with me weighing 3040lbs.

The reason I am asking is because to me 350rwhp, 3040lbs and 122mph don't add up. If you are going to make a comment about the mustang dyno numbers...I know that Mustang dynos read lower than dyno jets.

So the question is how much RWHP do you think I am making?

How much was it putting down with the stock twins? I'm not sure what your current output would be exactly, but I do know that you need to get a ported engine in there.

I'll be heading to San Antonio next month on leave. I'm going to go up to MZM in Austin for some tuning and dyno runs. Maybe we can get a group discount thing going or something. I'll be shooting for 380rwhp... on the stock twins

Head over to DynoTex and get it dynoed on the Dynojet. Derrick goes there for dyno usage for a good price.

Thanks for the input. I am not happy with the dyno results. They don't add up....

Dynos are the sad reality check that no one likes to hear from. They usually don't lie. Sorry. ( That said many factors can come into play, heat soak air temps etc.. and that 80% humidity doesn't help much either) Maybe go on a diet since you weigh 3040 pounds!! Damn fat *** lay off the twinkies!!
And judging HP by 1/4 mile times is pretty unreliable, There are way too many factors that come into play, ( wheelspin, shifting, whether you can drive worth a crap and so forth) They just give you a chart to see how consistent you are IMO.

And definetly at this point you should be wanting a port so you can breathe a little better with that big ol' single on there

I hear you...the twinkies are so good

The point I was making is that I don't think 350rwhp would produce those results at the track...

meaning you are too slow or too quick? That actually sounds about rite to me for HP #'s and times. But then again I don't do much straight lining!

Somewhere I have a HP-1/4 mile time conversion table. I will look for it and see what it shows as an estimate.

I believe he is implying it is too low a HP and too slow a track time. As fo right now it looks like his work of going single, over his twins, was a waste of a lot of money.

What were your 60ft times?

122trap your gonna need more than 350rwhp.
117 sounds right for about 350rwhp

how many pulls did you make on the dyno?

Correct in saying that I believe my horsepower readings are too low for the times I am running.

I consistently cut 1.60 to 1.67 60's.

I already have a single turbo T61.

My best trap so far has been 122mph.

I have made almost 60 passes in the 11's.

yeah i think u should be making more power than that. 350rwhp and a 11.5 @ 122? that doesn't make sense.
i bet that your makeing over 400rwhp.

it's all relative, isn't it? a dyno is just a tuning tool. You could go to the next nearest mustang dyno and get a totally different reading via a different operator. It still would be as useless as the first figure. The dynos only worth is when you tune against your own figures.

My 2c - find a dyno with a 'shooutout' (tournament) mode - with fixed settings - then you can claim x amount of hp vs any car that uses the same mode.

any way you look it at, all dynos are problematic - the only thing that has tangible worth are your track times

... and you could probably extrapolate a (still problematic) figure from those - find an online calculator (trap/et/weight=hp etc)
