Say you have one 4mm hose to UIM leak.
How much RPM would it increase over idle?
I think this will help those with funky idle...

Just messing with ya, yeah a leak could totally mess with the idle, I dont know if it matters what hose is leaking but when I had one pop off I would get a high idle of about 1600 or so, if that even helps at all, if not sorry,

I got a small vacuum hose broken. Then the idle became 1100rpm. So a broken 4mm hose increase idle by 300rpm.
That is on assumption that one 4mm hose broke.
If two was broken, the idle would be at 1300rpm.
So on...
Is there any set pattern as in this example? Perhaps if there is one, then we could immediately say for 1600rpm idle, you have 4 broken vacuum.

Your theory has no basis in science or logic. Sorry.
Any effect on idle from a broken vacuum/pressure hose is going to be determined by what that hose does. It's not a simple matter of each hose that breaks raises idle by 300 rpm.

Yea I know...
that is example...
but broken hose will increase air that goes into UIM. Thus increase idle.
how much this idle increased is what I am after.
Simlar to throtle opening to RPM ratio...

sorry man, that would be a great way of diagnosing hose breaks, but i think it doesnt work that way. you have to dig in there and physically look for the broken hose. i say, "Change them all!"

I pinch them, until they close.
OR take it out of UIM, and plug the hole in UIM with finger.
The supply of vacuum came from UIM, nowhere else.
So a hole 2mm diameter could raise e.g. 150rpm.
Can someone do a study on this? or should I?
As someone pointed out, this has no scientific background...
