How much psi ?

Look at the mods in my sig. Notice i dont have the apexi power fc and commander YET. What is the lowest and safest psi i can run at....9? is that what i should use for everyday? What is the highest i can run, will my $hit blow for just one race? How should i set my controler?

ok so you have intake, dp, and mp. For now don't go over 10psi, 9 is even safer if you can hold that.

I would say 10 psi also. With a mid pipe, you will need to keep an eye on it.

im a very impatient person and i cant take this one guy that doesnt like rx7's. If i did one race or 2 max ( off the line or a roll on) enough to proove my self) would it be ok to put it to 12 for just that and back to 9 for everyday........i thought 9 was 2 low for the car.....and when we put all that stuff on my car it was running lean but then we used this mazda computer and it doesnt run AS lean but it should be better-keep that in mind

You know, you are off to a great start on this forum. Every 18 year old trying to shake off the (deserved) stereotypes must hate you.....

It sounds like you just want us to tell you it's alright to do something that you should know is not ok. But you know what? Go for it. If risking a $3-4k motor is worth trying to satisfy your ego, go for it. Who knows, maybe you'll blow the motor, sell the car, and it will end up in better hands...

you know, im 17 and if you think that you have to prove yourself, then just go for it. you know that can lead to a lot of trouble..... thats all im saying.

also, what rynberg said about the stereotypes is true..

Smile

(1) Put back on your main cat and boost to 10 psi all day. You'll be able to whup up on most cars on the highway with the mods you have.

(2) Get rid of that silly quote in your signature.

Next question......

i dont care about what a bunch of avatars and screen names think of me. Im not trying to proove myself, i shouldnt have sed that. i dont care what people think of me because of my age. You no damn well that you like to hit the gas every once in a while whether it is to get around an annoying 18 wheeler or to make the guy in the honda next to you rethink his choices---w/e that reason is i have the same. All i wanted to no is if i went to have a lil fun and messed with the boost if it would damage any thing.but it doesnt matter because once she blows a street port is on the way along with the pwr fc I dont want you to tell me what i want to hear, i want the truth and so far maybe 5-10 people can do this on the forum w/o going into some song and dance about why im young or why ill get in trouble for -"boogie woogie" pressing on the gas.-

well first off, anyone who owns an fd always beats on it, its just one of those things you gotta do while owning one of these cars. i thought it was just me, because like we all know, you gotta push the car, but it wasnt. my friend who is like 22, use to always rev out of the engine, its what its made for. as long as you maintain it and take care of it, you can do anything you want to it.

but with psi you cant really mess around with. you should go no higher than 9 psi. i dont know how you can hold that psi with a mp. i figure youll go to atleast 12psi. spiking...but thats just my opion. like someone said above. put your cat back on. no ricer can keep up with a stock fd anyways.

BTW whats your friends car? I get alot of sh*T for my car but usually no one can talk sh*t and back it except for maybe the rich spoiled kids in daddies M3. So thats when you have to get tires or lighted the weight or something but upping psi should be LAST on your list.

[Edit] If he put high octane gas wouldnt he be able to up the PSI??? [edit]

NO. He will need the correct air/fuel ratio for the psi, which has nothing to do with octane rating. He could run Sunoco Maximal Red and it will still blow up.

ReDLiNe@t9.........

If you don't want to hear what people have to say, you should go elsewhere. You don't get to ask a question, and then try to edit how people will respond. If you ask what some people percieve to be a foolish question, you WILL be harassed.

This is a foolish question, and you know it.

You don't have to believe us, I mean we've just "been there done that." With the way you're talking it sounds like you'll just do whatever you want anyways.

Take this into consideration:

1)You run 12psi, get lucky and beat the guy = you're cool

2)You run 10psi and get beat = you're not cool

3)You run 12psi and blow the motor while racing = you look like a complete dumbass

If he beats you, you can always come back later and wax him. The small amount of hp you gain from that 2psi isn't worth risking a motor.

Your **** could blow if your stomachs not accustomed to mexican and then when you add some hot sauce your really asking for your **** to blow.

Extrapolate from that what you wish

BTW that quote is a bit off the mark. Put down the **** magazine and pick up one of those import car mags.
