How much for new clutch installation?

Hey all, I might be getting a 3rd gen. I'm wondering about the average life of a stock clutch? How much does/did it cost you to replace it? Labor that is...

With these cars, most of the time the clutch goes from modifying the car not necessarily from just wearing out. The stock clutch is usually good to about 300rwhp. After that, it generally can't handle the power.

I've seen labor quotes of around $400 for a clutch job. If there are any FD owners in your area, they'll probably help you do it if you want to get dirty, learn about the car and save some cash.

Oh heck yeah I'd love to earn money and learn about the car! I've got a couple locals around here, so I'll ask them... Thanks!

Heh, he said *save* some cash, not earn it. Sadly, there's no way to just earn money by working on your own car

I had 300.1 rwhp and the clutch held up fine, the I went non-sequential and boosted to 15 psi and the clutch slowly went over about 3 months. I was quoted 400 for a clutch installation, so I just did it myself.

I had mine done for about $180 from the guys at SIDEPEX but the truth was that the replacement included a whole lot of other mods.
Might as well.

6 hours of labor + $500 for clutch with pressure plate.

OEM clutch lasted only 40K (I had two). CFDF has lasted 30K with only 50% wear.

I was stupid and installed a Pineapple 6 puck clutch during a reman install. It sucks in traffic.
