Air bag light disable?

Ok guys, Im so sick of my air bag light, its been blinking at me since i bought the damn car, I dont care to fix it ($$) and because I have plans of getting the efini wheel anyways..

Ive heard that if i pull the bulb that a buzzer will sound. I know all about the different codes from the light and why mine is blinking. How do I turn it off, At this point im about to put some electrical tape over the panel.

someone please help me!

Mine has been blinking since january. I gave up caring. It blinks, I ignore it. It's a healthy relationship.

And the blinking is much better than the beeping, believe me

I wonder if i can put a resistor across the thing so it thinks it has a bulb in it...

edit: just talked to my electrical engineer here, he told me a resistor would probably work.. and gave me some to try out, Ill test it, find the right one and post. then we can all turn this F!@#%@# thing off

of course not but unplug the airbag at the connector under the steering column first just to extra safe.

LOL, that would suck if it deploys for no odd reason. And the blinking light is better than the beeping; every time somebody goes in my car they say whats that noise and I tell them to ignore it cuse it beeps for like a minute or so.

Have you actually performed this mod? If so, did it work?

Electrical tape worked for me. At least until I figure out how to do it the right way

Removing the airbag ECU will not fix the problem.

I disconnected both connections to my SRS ECU, it only changes the flashing to a solid "on all the time" warning light.

Putting a resistor across the leads WILL fix the problem.
Removing the bulb WILL mask the problem.

The bulb housing looks like:

-( )-

Push up on the right tab (produces counter-clockwise movement) with a long screwdriver, or use a deep socket and a nicely proportioned ratchet. Otherwise use a resistor or pull the gauge cluster (no thanks).

yes i have performed the mod and yes of course it worked. you remove the light bulb AND the ecu. no ecu no beep, the end. i still need to get around to removing the passenger airbag but i removed the front sensors.
