agreed....and make sure no Cops or anything is around you, when you step on it youll be shooting out black smoke, are u on the stock ECU?

i just blew my motor because i coudlnt wait for my PFC to come in, so i advice upgrade your ECU before you boost creep and fuel cut...

but other then that, if your cruising about x< 3 RPM it sounds nice, but when boost kicks in, it screems like open downpipe cars.

Both, at the stop lights you'll think you're next to an old beater... and on the freeway only the people behind you will pass out

I went from a near silent exhaust to a LOUD exhaust just by replacing the stock cat with a 3" RX7store midpipe. It will be MUCH louder. And yes it will smell like gas all the time but that's a good thing. It keeps people away from your car, right?

Not a HUGE difference from replacing the cat IMO, but I noticed quicker spool and better low end power. Oh and a bit more attention =)

Or go hi-flow cat with a DP. Street legal, doesn't smell, not as loud, and it'll help once you start upgrading your turbo system by helping to control boost spike and creep.

Be careful, you may find yourself creeping to 15-17 psi, especially in cold weather. I don't suppose you had rotary performance port the wastegate of those efini twins?

My high flow cat was a descent amount louder than resonated midpipe.

no i did not port the waste gate. Although the motor will be in pieces next week so I can probably have that done. I live in south florida, about 1 hour north of miami for location refrence....so i dont think ill really have to worry about cold nights. i also have a warning light and buzzer on my boost controller so if it does creep as soon as it goes past i will know.

Right, but there will be nothing you can do to control it, short of introducing some exhaust restriction.

I recommend you have the wastegate ported. Better safe than sorry

I've never seen any boost creep with my midpipe. I have my TurboXS MBC set at 14psi and I haven't seen any creep at all. I live in the Pacific NW and even when it gets cold I don't see boost creep. Maybe my car's just special. I've heard FD's with resonated midpipes and it does make a big difference in noise.

is that a difficult task to do? porting the wastegate? Im sure the guy doing my motor will know how. He owns 2 sub 10 sec rx7's that he built himself.

I know boost creep/spike happen fast but the buzzer and light is litterally right infront of my face....mounted on the steering colum.

I'm not sure you understand boost creep.....your boost rises uncontrollably with rpm. worst case scenario, you might have to shift early at 6000 or 7000 rpm to keep your boost from going sky high. Not being able to shift at redline sucks. My BNRs have a ported w/g and I still creep to 15 psi on cold nights. That doesnt bother me b/c I never intentionally want to run less than 15 anyway
