dude, nothing broke so $0.00, just all depends on what you begin with and how you care for it

Exclamation

The first one I bought with 77000 miles and sold with 91000 miles. I had an oil line come loss on second turbo and spent $350 on hose upgade from Pettit. That was it. My current one I purchased with 49000 and currently have 57000 and spent 75 cents on a new hose(map sensor). It really depends on how well you know what you are buying and how well you take care of it, relaibility mods., etc..G...

So as long as the funfactor exists, I will NEVER get tired of fixing Rexy

Its more mechanic errors than anything. My oil pan was resealed last year, and now it leaks again. Should I be mad at the car? Of course not. It's was the dealer that f--ked up.

But you should NEVER ask how much money we have spend on mods

$65 for an air temp sensor, parts only. I did the work myself by pulling out the manifold. $90 for an alternater belt change (part and labor). Everything else is all normal maint (oil, filter, plugs and soon brakes)

I've had it for 1.5 years with 7k miles driven. Pretty darn cheap for a 7 yr old sports car.

I think the horror stories come from 1993 models that have been beaten and sit in traffic to go get groceries for 5 years. with nothing more than oil at jiffy lube. I have had my beast for 1 year. WHen I first bought it, as with any car. I changed all the fluids, plugs, filters, etc. basically most reliablility things that are common with others cars as well as the 7. I have had nothing break on my car except my TCA actuator ($250 used). I bought it at 51k, and it has 60k now. last week clutch was replaced (it was the orginal) I had to troubleshoot boost problems for a bit. I put new rotors on, and pads. flush coolant. Basically normal maintenance on any car.

Don't ask me how much I have spent on mods though! lol.

I bought mine in March '97 with 11,054 mi. for $23.5K after looking for 6 months. Saw a lot of junk in those 6 mos. I've had good control over Preventitive Maintenance (pay a little every now and then or pay big later).

I had an EGR go bad under warranty at about 17,000 mi. Other than that I do all the work and it's been mods and chasing down a loose vacuum hose every once in a while, currently have 49,000 mi. I just recently split a grn/blk check valve and think I have a bad leading coil (under $200 in parts, no labor). I also have a bent front sway bar mount, wating on a new batch of Widefoot Swaybar mounts ($285).

This unreliable crap that I hear all the time is BS. It has a lot to do with what you buy, so many people buy on impulse because it looks COOL and buy someone elses problems. Jack

the unreliability comes from doing mods incorrectly... thats when people tend to get power hungry and careless(car-less), be sensible w/ upgrading ECU, fuel, cooling system in addition to the horsepower mods and you should have no problems

Well, I guess I'll bust in with my repair bill.

I've spent about $3,500 in maintance/repair.

This involved engine replacement due to overheating, that was caused by a thermostat malfunction, and towing charges, and replacing the a/c cause the pump started leaking, plus I'm about to have to have my bump stops replaced because they are compleately gone and my car rubbs the wheel wells during hard turns.

My car is a 92, I bought it with 55K miles on it, and I have 80K on it now. The motor was repalced at 74,000 miles and the car was totally stock at that point.

From owners who don't know want to learn how to take care of their FD's themselves. For a pure sports car, it is VERY reliable.
I've got neighbors with a brand new Porsche and a brand new Ferrari (lucky SOB's!) and there is ALWAYS something going wrong with them. The bitches are garage queens! ONLY driven on weekends - **** 'em all. Drive or die!
