Question how much is a good price?

Wondering if you guys can help me out, I'm new to the Rotary world. I am looking to buy a stock 3rd gen 7, want to know how much to expect to spend, what I am looking for is something with manual trans twin turbo with the body in good shape but not to concerned with milage or condition of the engine plan to rebuild completely. I've looked around a little but prices vary alot just wanted to get your guys input on this one.

The prices of these cars range from 10k - 30k depending on the year, model, milage and if its modded or not. If your not concerned wth the engine, you could probably find a good one w/ a blown engine for about 10k - 12k.

thanks wasn't sure what a good price is, I've seen a couple for around 8K with bad coolant seals or motors need to be rebuilt but wasn't sure if that was reasonable or not.

Uhh... I just bought a beater to put my totalled car's parts into for $5,000 with an engine that runs and a straight frame. Automatic yes but screw paying $10k.

I've had it stripped down so there are no hiiden supplies. Even if it had a blown engine, $5k would be good. And no, no salvage title history, totally clean.

$10 k is way too high. If I did pay $10k, I'd have every right to be VERY concerned with the engine, turbos, trans (5th gear syncrho), interior, paint, etc.

5k is pretty low, you must have gotten a great deal. I don't usually see them much less than 10k. Also, he said that he wanted a manual trans and body in good shape... not a "beater with a straight frame." I think 5k is incredibly rare for a car in good condition with only a blown motor.

So.. where do you people look?... for these 5k cars? I'd pay 5k for a running FD, even if it was auto...

O... btw Jameson, I think if you are new to the rotary world, I think you should be looking for cars that haev been well taken care of... Unless you happen to be very mechanically oriented and can learn things very quickly. In that case, go for anything.

I'd say a good running FD that has been taken care of will run you about 12-15 for 93, 15k-20k?? for 94, and ... um, haven't seen enuf 95s to even price them. Clearly, if the car has mods, or has raelly low mileage etc... then it would be 20k+.

But like others have pointed out, I think you can pick up a FD, beaten, etc.. for 8-10k.. maybe 12k if the car is running.

I'm not so sure, Jeff at Maztech said he paid $5k for a manual, clean title, and working engine a few weeks ago and fixed it up and resold it so it can't be that rare of a deal. He thought my deal was good but not anything spectacular.

Anyways, my point wasn't that $5k is a normal price, just that $10k is way too high considering $5k can be done in certain instances. Maybe $5k is on the lower end but I think $7-$8k can reasonably done.

And the engine was not blown on mine, only automatic.

Other than that, everything else was aesthetic annoyances like the door handles cracked. Even came with a PFS Exhaust.
