how much does it cost to replace the belts in an FD?
i was examining the belts the other day, and they look pretty worn out. does anyone the costs to replace these, with or without labor? thanks

replace belts
If you plan on replacing the belts yourself, take the old ones with you to the auto parts store. I found two places (NAPA and Autozone) which had the wrong size belt on their computerized parts list for the FD. The number on the old belt will probably be worn off, but you can have them match the length to get the correct belt on the first try.

I just did it and used goodyear gatorback belts. Cost me 40 bucks. They are neat and are designed almost like a tire tread. Supposed to make it quiter it says.
4050530 - alternator, water pump, air pump
4060410 - a/c, power steering
The belt for the alternator, water pump and air pump was a real bear to get on but i managed. These belts came recommended from one or two people on the forum when i did a search. Actually one was a little small but the auto parts guy looked it up and gave me a slightly bigger one (they were very very close). It's not too complicated. If you have any questions pm me. The parts stores will come up with three belts: one for the water pump, one for the air pump, and one for the power steering and a/c. There are not three belts, only two its just that they know nothing about our car. Don't listen to them. Always double check anything someone tells you when it comes to the fd (even me, do a search for gatorback or something) :-).
