Alot. I am using a RE N1 hood and you can see the heat rising out of the hood vents when sitting idle. I saw my cruising temps reduced by a good 5-7 degrees (according to my PFC). Well worth the money.

Not to mention, Chuck does great work

You got to be kidding right.
It's got to be a significant decrease at cruising speeds, especially the scoot hood. wasn't turbojeff praising his experiences with it.

I also could see heat waves rising from my vents (scoot).. also with my fans on, I could feel the hot air coming out. I'm sure its doing something.... I hope??

lopedl. ur avatar looks outrageous.

got some more pics?

One of my buddies had a blue FD with vents from the fenders of the BMW Z3.

It looks sick.

Kinda like looking underneath a manta ray and seeing the gills.

lopedl:

DAYUM!

ur splitter looks crazy.

where did u get that?

I would be paranoid parking that car and skyscraper speedbumps would raise my blood pressure.

I like the wing.

Not as big as my 15" tall 71" double decker king of wings

And what's with the rims?

They are kinda anticlimatic.

kinda clashes with the rest of the car.

mesh = ewwwww

gunmetal rims would look sick.

I bought my mazdaspeed vented hood ( knock off) to allow heat excape more rapidly when parked. I know from experience that in my garage my FD cools faster with the hood open vs. closed. My wife didn't want me to open the hood which heated up the garage all of a sudden. The vented hood is a marital thing, again.

I open my hood in the garage and it helps keep the heat soaking down when I want to drive later on.

It's great in the winter.

Helps keep the heating bills down

Just drive around with your hood off for a while some hot day and see if that makes a difference in temps... I bet it does. That would be the easiest way to comparison test. Or do it on a hot night so no one laughs.

FWIW before I park my car I pop the hood (but don't unlatch) a block before my house and drive up really slow. It seems to make a world of a difference from when I don't do it. Just to be able to touch the hood is nice, let alone what it does for the temps.

I am definitely going to get a vented hood but not till I get some wheels. I can't deal with a CF hood and stock wheels.

x...

That might actually increase temps by discouraging air from passing through the radiator. Not sure but... No hood does not equal vented hood.
