some of you guys got some amazing deals like mcbride, riptor, and hai tek...nice finds fellas. You asked if people ever regretted getting a rx-7.

I got my first fd, which was a 93 vr r1, when I was 17...I drove it from time to time and never pushed it. Due to lack of inexperience on the road, I drove side by side with a semi truck who probably didnt see me next to him and pushed me off the road. Now with more time behind the wheel, I can somewhat anticipate their actions better and if they will stay in their own lanes. I have always regretted driving it that day...but never regretted buying that car.

I got my car a few weeks after i turned 20. I guess it was a gift to myself. =)
i'll tell you this. This car takes a lot of care. You need money to maintain it, hell even if you dont have to maintain it you have to have money to put gas into it. Since sep. i have been living pay check by pay check. Full time college student, also in a lil debt. Never regret buying the car. Previous car was a '01 prelude.

Lets just say FDs are a lil bit of old school that can kick butt.
One thing that i dont like about it is the low end torque, not enough for me ><

Man I don't want to be a nay-sayer but I just don't think you are ready for this car yet. it will just cost you too much and if you are thinking of taking out a loan just to buy the car then where are you goign to get the cash to repair it. I wanted one real bad when I was that age too. I was realistic and made the decision to buy the right car at the right time. you will never have as much money as you think you will for repairs and if something big happened you would be screwed. Don't get into debt yet - just wait and buy it at the right time. Trust me a couple years will go by before you know it.

$11,500. Had a crap body kit and hideous wing (although i have to admit i thought it was cool at the time, as i was 19). Pretty good buy though. Interior was MINT, and the car had 71k miles. Perfect mechanical condition as well.

I bought my one owner R1 with 34,000 miles back in April 2000 for $21,000. Absolute Mint Condition, not a problem, ding or scratch on it.

$6,900 93 FD base silver with 86k and a Salvaged Title. (All cosmetic) (brand new tires lol) The car was put back together very well and even passed through California VIN before I bought it. I bought this car last year in november. I put about 50 miles on it, parked it, and have a single turbo project currently going. I can't wait to drive it...Or blow the motor up!

Hey dude do what you want. They guys on here might be right but i am taking the chance right now. I am 18 and have a 97 blazer and a 93 base i bought in Sept. I took out a loan for that, paid 12k for it. I am going to college to but i live at home and dont have to pay for college. If you have to pay for college and this car you may want to re-think what your doing or have a really good paying job. I haven't had any problems with mine yet. I bought it completely stock and i just recently changed the plugs and wires. It's a fun car and worth every penny that you put into it, for me i will just have to wait a while to put any pennies into it. For now i am just enjoying it. There are a few minor things that i could fix now but just haven't gotten around to it, like rattles on the Cat Converter, brakes are completely shot but i will handle that when i have the money.

I prolly just dug myself a hole by saying that i have a FD and no money but i think i will manage.

bought my 93 vr base model on feb. 22 2005 it had 54k miles, a new motor and a bunch of bolt ons. with manaray sport rims which i hear are very rare, i paid 16,700 for it and I got the money from money i saved from afghanistan. It has been a fun car so far, the stuff it had is listed in the sig, minus a few things i have done. oh it has a full stereo in it too, speakers, sub, deck. oh i put the hood on too.

94 VR R2- $3,500 no motor, no interior, and hacked to hell wiring. $7,000 + a whole lot of time = an immaculate FD.

bought my 93' base silver in 03' for about 7000.00 from an exchange student who had 98
back home, he had to do the vaccum hose changeout and got frustrated because he never got the car to run right again. So he sold it to me for what he owed on it and gave a bunch of extra parts had pulled off his car overseas. Took me about 2 weeks to get it straight because it was the first rotary I ever owned. Runs great I've put about 10000miles on it since
