There are dozens upon dozens of threads exactly like this one. Please do a simple search to find a couple. If you're not finding them via the search, put some thought into the search terms.

$10000-17000 is a pretty normal range for operational cars.

$3k-7k is abnormally low. Unless it's missing a lot of stuff, I would assume it's a scam.

Or garbage. You probably wouldn't be able to drive a car that sells for that price, without putting a lot of money into it.

I got my second FD for $8,500 and I use for my daily driver... it had a couple vacuum leaks but i replaced all the stock hoses for silicone ones, 7 stock solenoids, and an intercooler coupling and now the car runs great... considering it has the stock motor and turbos' w/ 95,000 miles on it....

Paid £4500 british money that is for one you prolly all sore on ebay, apparently the guy had to relist it cause the tall guy who put a deposit on it could not get in

its a propper motor, i have 3 machanics at my disposal so got them to go round it several times and including took it to rotechnics here in the uk and all checks out.

has lots dun to it with plenty of thought on reliability so am pleased with it.

J 1992 with 72k on the clock and a rebuild at 60k so i was pleased.

7k for a salvaged title 93 R1. It was missing some interior pieces but looked and ran great! 100 miles later I ripped out the tired twins and am almost done with my single conversion. The car has 86k on it.

Do you "do a search" guys just wait for these types of topics to pop up and just say the same thing you say in every thread? Why waste your time?

$6k for 93 R1 with 70k miles and a blown Apex seal, but I know the original owner and the complete history of the car so I'm happy.

Probably to discourage the same person wasting everybody's time by posting even more redundant threads in future.

This thread topic (which, to be fair, is posted once every two weeks or so rather than daily) is particularly pointless. The vast majority of responses are nearly always from people who bought their car for under market and want to boast about it.

I highly reccomend you read through this thread about my post on cheap/high mile FDs: https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/advice-new-rx7-469845/

With such low compression numbers on the motor, I wouldn't recommend purchasing the vehicle unless you can get it for really cheap. Keep in mind, a good rebuild ran me in upwards of $5k (new clutch, rebuilt turbos, and 3mm milling along with the standard motor rebuild) from a reputable shop such as Rotary Power in Gardena, CA.

You also didn't mention the miles on the chasis. With time, there are a lot of misc. parts to replace (filters, bushings, interior pieces, exterior pieces, along with other worn/failing parts that easily add up to a large sum of money). Factor that into the floor price of that car, then compare it to the prices that other people are asking for a "healthy" and reputable FD on the FS/FT section of this forum to make a good judgement. The reason I would use the forum to seek a FD is that you can somewhat track the history of the car by using the search function. I made the mistake of not using this forum to seek my car at the time of purchase, and I paid a lot more in misc. parts and countless hours of my own labour to get it to what it is now.

Start off by reading the stickies on the top of this forum to get a grasp of what you are getting yourself into. I have spoken with far too many brash teenagers who have purchased what they thought to be a "cheap" FD; and they got just that -- a cheap FD. All the cost in parts and labor of all the little things that were wrong with it easily added up to what the difference between a poor condition FD and a good condition FD would have been.

Be willing to travel to find your FD. Limiting your selection to a small radius is like having a narrow view on life -- there will be a lot of nice experiences [FDs] that you will miss out on. Also, making decisions with haste can also be comparable to life; what is "good now" may not necessarily be "good later". Good luck with your search.

All true. I was one bragging. On the other hand, prices change over time so a thread like this may be a waste when it pops up every two weeks, but over time it has some intrinsic value.

There is no intrinsic value. FDs are not worth $7000, like one would think by reading this thread.
