Man, if you have a good car, that's a DAMN shame to part it out. We don't need another FD in the junkyard.
Better still, sell the performance bits out of it then sell the car to someone who will get it back on the road again.
Sorry to hear you popped your motor!

i do not want to scrap it by any means. just an option i am looking at. the car still runs (rotary ftw) but runs rough as hell. Its enough to get me around, but is still an issue that needs to be resolved. I honestly love this car, and cannot see getting rid of it.. but with the current $$ issue im in, might have to be for now.

you will get no where near what you have into it from parting. If you love the car, talk to Kevin at www.RotaryResurection.com )it's probably spelt wrong but you get the idea) He has competitive pricing for rebuilding motors and does REALLY good work. IMO, for under 3k you can have your current motor rebuilt and ported if the housings and iron's are in fair shape. Don't let another FD sit in a junk yard or get into the hands of a kid.

You will probably get $8k for it with a blown engine. I think you'd be hard pressed to get as much as that parting it out - and the time and effort involved would be huge. I would pull all the nice parts off first (the ECU, wideband etc.) and replace with stock parts - which should give you another $2k or so.

He's right...I paid 7400 for mine that in turn had a blown engine...My body isn't that great so I got jipped but if you're just looking to walk away from it, return the car to stock, sell the aftermarket parts (you already have people calling dibs on stuff) and sell the car with a blown motor.
