You are nuts to be trying to play with the boost fuel cut limit of the ECU. My friends and I have had a theory. If anyone has noticed, everytime an engine pops with the stock ECU, its always the REAR rotor to die first, and WHICH rotor gets the fuel cut? Yep.

It's a PITA trying to control boost to the ECU's limit. You will end up getting fuel cut one too many times. Remember, with a DP, you will be spooling a LOT faster as oppsed to having the precat on. You may pass the threshhold by several PSI AFTER you hit fuel cut if you are not careful.

I would just say that either $700 for a Pettit ECU or even $1100 for something like a Power FC is cheaper than a rebuild.

You probably won't get any hard numbers for what the stock ECU can support but why chance it? I would imagine that the stock ECU can go over 10 PSI (to handle spiking in cooler weather). However, I doubt it was designed to or else we would have had that PSI running stock on the car.

I would just suggest, if you value your engine, keep it at stock boost levels with the stock ECU. Good luck!

It's not a matter of keeping it below 4k, it's a matter of not boosting highly. You can easily boost well over 10 psi below 4k, especially in 4th or 5th gear.
