How many of you purchased 99 oil cooler ducts from RHDjapan??

I need to know how many of you were mislead and bought 99+ oil cooler ducts from RHDjapan??

I've purchased a set 3-4 months ago and I just realized they sold me the 93+ not the 99+ ducts supposedly for the 99+ bumper.

If you have purchased a set, please post here.

I've been emailing back and forth with RHDJapan regarding these and they are now saying NO ONE had complained about these.. and hesitant to take these back. Which is hard to believe as I know at least 3 people on the forum who bought them and complained and no resolution was made.

So, Post here and let me know if you bought a set from them and PM me your email address so that I could send it to them..

I believe this is BS in that their website clearly states its for 99+ bumper..

Thanks!

I remember reading something about the S8 spec ducts don't work properly with the S6 oil coolers? Could this be your problem, or are you sure that they are S6 style ducts?

I have S8 oil coolers, they're the same (at least dimensionally) as S6.

I did, but I already emailed them. Would you still like to get my email?

We just got back from a meeting with our rep. Apparently there was a miscommunication from them on the parts in question.

You have expressed concern regarding some type of compensation for the error on our website. However from an administration and management perspective it could become a contentious issue to decide where liability lies because our terms of service clearly state that we are not responsible or liable for loss incurred due to information obtained from our website. This being said we do want to come to a solution because we do understand the situation from a customer, racer perspective.

To alleviate this the following actions have been taken.

1. We have set up a store credit for 7,000 yen for anyone who purchased a pair of the oil ducts from 2007 to now. The credit is good for anything listed under the FD3S category and the coupon code will be your order number "RHD###". It can be used once and will be good until the end of February.

We would like to express our sincerest apologies in this informational error and hope that this corrective action will allow you to feel comfortable with continuing your business relationship with us.

Glad you saw this Patrick! I'm also glad you are at least attempting to fix this issue. I didn't want to bring this up from the start but I felt that I was getting a run around answers and had to go this route.

Regarding store credit of 7000 yen seems to be good.. except the deadline of using them by end of Feb. I think thats just rediculous as I know some people here tends to order more than one item at a time and forcing to use it in a month when sometimes getting an answer from you guys could take weeks.

My recommendation is to at least extend the time to at least 6 months. 1 month is just rediculous!

Second, I'm still wanting the OEM duct... Store credit is nice but I prefer to actually get the part I initially wanted... Hope you could find the correct part and get them to us. 3 people I know who ordered will be at the DGRR 2008 and I'll be happy to deliver them to them.. So, you could save on shipping.

Hope you see that my request is reasonable??

thanks!

PHIL

Chris, they're offering to refund people the money for the ducts without expecting them to be returned. Thus, free set of brand new oem usdm 93-95 ducts. Assuming I understand it correctly, that's a raging good deal. Besides, the 99 ducts *do not exist*, therefore they can't exactly send us the right part

Patrick,
I originally ordered a left side duct from you guys and was sent a right side duct on accident. I did email you and said to send it back. At the time, I really didn't have time to mess with it and I figured I would just hang onto it. I then purchased another left side duct. So basically, I ended up with a duct set, but have 2 seperate order numbers that both say "99+ Oil Cooler Duct, left". How do I need to enter my code? Thanks again.

Yes, the offer is for anyone who purchased the items from us. As we have uploaded all the orders that may have been affected by this, the coupon code will be your original order number and this coupon code can be entered at the checkout page. We do not expect anyone to return the items to us, they are yours to do with what you like. We have never had any intention of misleading or neglecting any of our customers and hope that we contribute positively to the rotary community across the globe.

thanks again!

Ok I spent quite a while checking my Mazda parts CD-rom and couldnt find it. I could find it for all the non 99spec and up models but not the 99 and after.

I then called mazda japan and asked them to find it for me. No luck but they said they would get back to me. I continued to search the cd-rom thinking it might have had a name change. Still no luck.

Then I picked up RX-7 magazine Vol 16 from 2002. There is a pic of the last Spirit R rolling off the line in there. In that pic you can see that it does not have any oil cooler ducts. I am about 99% sure they do not exist now, atleast not from mazda. The oil ducts do have mointing brackets for the duct but they did not come on the late model FD`s to my knowledge. You should be able to use the earlier gen ducts but it just wont look right.

Thanks for doing all that research, circuit theory. kinda jibes with what i had found.

I used to have my original R1 ducts mounted, and they looked ridiculous. Way too small, and there wasn't a seal so they weren't functional.
