How many speakers do non-bose systems have?
I'm guessing here cause I haven't opened it yet, but is this true:
4 6 1/2" in the door and the top?
2 6x8 in the back
this is for the non-bose system...

..and there's a 5th speaker mounted in the center of the dash which works on the standard stereo too. I once put a microphone on it to test it because I couldn't tell by ear. It works.

In both BOSE & Std setups the center (Dash) speaker is 3" with its own amp mounted under the dash next to the glove box.
The BOSE Wave Guide has 2 6" SubWoofers and a dedicated amp, the BOSE fronts are 5" with a dedicated amp for each mounted in the doors.
The Std System uses two front & two rear speakers with the amps built into the head unit

2 in the doors 2 behind the seats and one 10" subwoofer and it sounds great. Really don't think you need more than that for great sound it's a pretty small inside as you know. But if you feel better with more go for it.

I wouldn't put BOSE in your car unless you have to... It not only sucks but uses the stupid amps that are not in just one spot like most aftermarket set ups are. Plus the head units do not supply ample power to even power the door speakers!!! I would go aftermarket... not only cheaper but better...

The Wireing Harneses are different but I think it is eaiser to upgrade from the std to the Bose system than vice versa - the Bose harness is missing some wires that are in the std harness - I think the Bose option could be dealer installed using the stock harness - but don't quote me - I don't have my wire diagrams in front of me as I write this so I am going from memory - I had studied them rather closley when I was thinking of replacing my bose system .
