but.. a 50k mile car with a 10k mile engine... no one cares about engine mileage.. we care about chassis mileage (thats my point).

Our '94 has about 101,800 miles. On the car... on the engine... less on the tires, belts, AST, radiator, water pump, vacuum hoses, LIM exhaust manifold gasket, FPD, IAT sensor, OP sensor, etc, etc... you get the idea!

I get your point and agree, but...when you're pouring $10k into a 15 year old car with 200k miles on it, you look for any excuse to tell yourself that you're not throwing your money down the toilet (which we all are anyway, no matter what the mileage).

My first FD was an R1 with the original engine.. over 180k miles on it.
The (at the time) doctor for the Miami Dolphins football team owned the car then the min he sold it.. the next owner popped the engine and sold it to me.. with about 50gals of sand in the engine bay and chassis.

Good times in that car... always smelled like the beach & ocean inside :-)
