I think the factory manual says 30k. But I know "everyone" on here does it probably more like 5-6k (every 2 oil changes or so) But thats overkill in my limited opinion

Actually, the manual says 60 months (5 years) or 60 thousand miles (pg A-3). I would rather go about half that, but I'm a little ****.

I think 15k is a pretty good rule of thumb. Considering how crucial fuel delivery is on these cars.....

Hmm, I recently changed my fuel filter... it was well worth the trouble let me tell you. A tremendous improvement in throttle response.

I would stick with mazda recommendation at 60k unless you're having performance issues.

I did change mine at 30k and didn't notice any change. I think my next one will be another 60k mi.

15k is what I have heard and I do since it's no big deal but the guy who rebuilt my engine says that's excessively conservative.

I do the fuel filter every 15k miles. I do my oil every month regardless of miles. I usually put like 6-7k miles a year on my FD.

I'd trace the fuel line all the way from the pump to the injectors and make sure they didnt install another filter like the K&N fuel filter or something in a different location.....its very common to relocate the filter so its easy to change
