Sonny, so far I like the cat but I'll be able to give you a more definitive impression after I get the rest of the exhaust on and run it a while. Hope to have the DP on Wednesday. The Bonez hi-flo is significantly smaller and lighter and the air hose attachments included in the package worked out just great.
I like the customer service offered by Rotary Performance so far. Will let you know how the fitment goes.

Cool, man. Don't drop the stock cat on yourself when removing it. It's heavy enough to kill.

How long had you been watching Senna when he died at Imola? I was watching that race when it happened. Very sad day indeed.

I'd been watching him for a few years. Brasilian drivers (part of my heritage) have always been my bias. Nevertheless it typically meant getting up early in the eastern time zone on a Sunday am---which wasn't always easy to do while in college. But it was pure joy until that day.
I was in disbelief---remember it vividly. Seemed so improbable....
Still for me, nothing compares in auto racing with the start of an F1 race!!

Oh boy, here we go. UPS dropped the Bonez DP off right before dinner tonight. So I figure finally I'll get my car running again tonight.
Anyway, family wants to go for an after dinner walk--so I concede and decide I can put it off for another hour or so. Get back and first thing I do is check my O2 sensor because I plan to put that on before I bolt the DP up.

And of course as murphy has it the sensor connector wire is down to one strand and it snaps off in my hand....

Interestingly I called Mazda yesterday to price an OEM sensor thinking mine is over 10 years old and this may be a good time to replace and they want about $180 for it!!
Anyway, I held the DP up to the manifold and it looks like it should fit but it also appears that in order to make it fit I'm going to need to take some of the slack out of the hangers....don't know how bad it's going to be until I actually bolt the thing in there but I'm a little worried.

The Bonez DP is definately an inch or so shorter than the Precat and the RVM DP....what gives with this
job??

Did a little research tonight and ended up with a sensor from oxygensensors.com and saved a $100.

More to come!

I bought the universal Bosch 1 wire O2 sensor from Kragen for $25. The OEM sensor from oxygensensors.com will have the clip on it (a nice thing). I had to solder mine on.

If that is a really a Bonez DP, it will have a metal strap at the back to bolt it to the tranny.

This is a somewhat belated update. At any rate last weekend I got the Bonez DP (all but the lower left stud/nut on) and the hi-Flo on and they otherwise connected up great.

I've given up and will be taking it in to a mechanic (a good one) at the dealership to assist with that last stud. I've tried almost everything-OEM stud/nut, Hex head bolt, socket head cap screw and I can't get any to fit. Another member was saying he has used a shorter stud that is used to attach the turbo and that worked so I may give that a try.

Haven't driven it much and don't plan to until that last connection gets secured but I already notice a huge difference in responsiveness.

Sonny, not sue how you got a stud into that lower left point? with mine the stud would hit up against the pipe and there was no way to get a nut over it.

You need to start that one first. Pull the DP away from the turbo and insert the hex head bolt (if you're using a bolt) or start the nut (if you're using a nut). As you tighten, the clearance will lessen, but you should have room to get it on.

Thanks for responding Sonny. I attempted to start that one first but for some reason couldn't get it. You've got me scheming again though....can't say I'm too excited about backing out the other three at this point. I'm going to look into that shorter stud and go from there. I would prefer to go with a stud if possible.
