How long was your repaint?

I had my car repainted starting in the first week of August. This included the usual removal of bumpers/ window gaskets, etc. The work isn't yet complete. How long have others waited for a complete repaint, not including engine bay? I did have a new hood painted/installed as well.

If a shop was really hustling and didn't have a ton of bodywork to do they should get able to get it done easily in 2wks. If they have a little more bodywork to do and you want the jambs, etc done I'd give 'em 4wks.

If your "fill in" work then it really depends on how busy they are with regular insurance work.

This car took ~6wks IIRC.

This car took 3 months almost exactly.

Both were fill in work.

When I had the color changed I had everything but the engine bay painted and it ended up taking them 3 weeks. When I got it back there were a couple flaws I found and places where it looked like some of the work was rushed so I ended up leaving it with them another week to have all the little stuff taken care of.

My advice is that if you're going to have your car repainted be flexible on the completion time for the job, it's better they do it right the first time.

4-6weeks is what most shops are going to end up at unless they are slow. I would say if they tell you 3 expect 5 and so on. 8 weeks would be pushing it.
