i turn it on and go. i just dont boost until its warmed up. i turn it off as soon as i get in my garage. i just dont run it hard while traveling through my neighborhood (about 2 minutes). i also start my car, move it, and shut it off whenever i need. i have never had a flooding problem i dont think good running cars should. some people are crazy on here.

I start and move whenever like Prew does. As for warming up, I generally allow the first initial startup of a day to warm up to 44deg Celsius on the PFC Commander. No real science there, but to me it keeps my process consistent and allows ample time for startup, oil flowing, lubrication, etc etc. I figure half way to running temp is good. Then I stroll moderately out of my neighborhood.

I leave my turbo timer at 1min, unless i go out for a fun drive then i put it for 2 when i get home. Other then that the start up i don't let it do the extended warm up, don't think a car should rev up like that when its cold. I cruz around untill gage gets to where it always is and then i'll boost but never before that.

I normally will not drive mine anywhere until the temp guage at least moves over the lowest line. Usually though I start it and go back in the house for a minute or two to do some last minute item (put on Tie, brush teeth) and then by the time I make it back out it is warm enough to go. Then I will not boost for about 5-10 miles. I normally let it cool down for a minute or so.......

I usually wake up every morning and turn the FD on with the garage door closed before I eat my cereal. Then I proceed back to the garage to inhale a bit of carbon monoxide and rev the Rx7 to about 7-8k (Redline) and hold for 3-4 minutes. At that point I let it idle whilst I shower and adorn my naked body of soap and minerals. Upon leaving the house, I soon realise that it's hot, muggy, and stupid out, so I yank the keys out of the ignition, and hop into my Acura integra.

Or I let the car warm up to 80F (the temp it usually shows on a "cold" start on a summer day) and then move...which take's all of maybe 2 minutes...:P Then I don't boost hard or much at all until 175F+

I get in the car, start it up, then put on my seatbelt and look for radio station and set the ac before I go but only if I have time. I'f I'm in a hurry I just start and go. I try not to rev above 3500 and also no boost until it's warm. I know if I boosted a little by the dreaded 3k rpm hesitation.

I start the car and let the idle slowly drop for about a min while I check things out. Then I ease out and try not to get above 2k rpms. In about 2 min I am the entrance of the neighborhood and was going about the speed limit and the temp gauge is at the halfway mark.

On the way home I just try and take it easy using high gears to keep my rpms down and just cruise for the last few miles. After I shut off I usually pop the hood . (Just to hear the snapping and popping sounds from all that heat.)

newbie question...are the turbos water cooled or oil cooled??? If it's water cooled then you wouldn't really need a turbo timer would you?

summertime- 1 minute then go, no boosting until completely warmed up

winter time- 5 minutes then go, same thing about boosting

summertime cool down, just shut off and let it sit (if no boost), the fmic drops the heatsoak a bit

summertime cool down w/boost- run the fans for about 3 minutes or open the hood for 10-15 minutes

wintertime cool down with or without boost- nothing, the weather + fmic doesnt show heatsoak problems at all..
