How to linearize stock water temp?

I recently did this MOD. not the temp gauge just barely moves when the engine is at normal operating temp 86C
I haven't heated it up at all so the higest I have seen it the low mark on teh stock gauge. any of you that tried this mod have the same results? Even with the gauge reading so low, I like that I can trust it.
If I even see it jusm up to the middle of normal or even close, Ill be checking the PFC and switching the fans on.
