I know what the back-up light switch is for but can anyone tell me what the safety neutral switch is for and if my car will still run fine if this is not connected. I recently took off my transmission and in the process of putting it back I broke the switches. I have no money to fix it yet n I need the car to run .

i found out what it is it's the reverse light switch. thanks for the post.
