how in the hell do you get the fuel pulse dampener out?

turns out mines is indeed leaking and i cant figure out how the hell you can get any type of tool in there, even with the solonoid rack out, its still so freaken tight that i dont think i cant unscrew it. how it attached to the fuel rail anyways? 2 screws right?

do you gotta undo the LIM to get it out?

also, on the other side, the fuel line is connected to the fpd via just a hose correct?

ok i got it out, thanks for the info about taking the fuel rail off. i did run in to a little problem though, when i took off the fuel rail, i noticed that the gasket/o-ring thingy that goes around the base of the fuel injector holder broke, the other one seems ok but it looks like its gonna brake very soon as well. any idea on where i can get new ones?

would these be the ones (as taken from mazdatrix.com)\

yes, that's the right one. i would recommend replacing the diffuser o-rings and primary injector o-rings while you are there. the diffuser is a little piece of plastic underneath each of the injectors within the manifold and block. be care as they are fragile.

parts with part numbers. the diffuser o-rings don't show up in the 3rd gen parts diagram fyi. don't pay attention to the prices though

Injector O-Rings and Grommets
O-Rings Small NF01-13-ZG3 4 $4.90
O-Rings Big NF01-13-ZG4 4 $6.00

FPR and FPD O - Rings
O-Rings 9954-10-1252 0 $1.80
O-Ring N253-13-282 0 $1.90

Diffuser O-rings
O-Ring 9954-10-1252 4 $1.80

Injector Insulators NF01-13-257A 2 $2.55
Injector Insulators N3A1-13-257 2 $2.55

the part number you gave is the "injector insulator". look closely at the part numbers and you'll see that they are the same. the mazdatrix part number has the first four numbers in front compared to the original mazda part number + they add a '0' to the end of and number that is 3 digits. i think that way it keeps their database consistent. the diffuser o-rings is a rubber o-ring sort of like the injector ones but thinner as i remember. you might have to pop it out of the UIM with a little screwdriver.

You probably ought to send your injectors off to get cleaned and balanced while you are in there.
