How to get my Turbos off, Trying to get to the core!!

Alright, engine is out of the car, and I need to get the turbos off and further disassemble the engine so I can send the core in. I can't seem to get the damn heatshields off of the bottom, I have every bolt I can get to removed around the turbos, except for the one that the heatshield is blocking (i think).

Here are some pics...

If there are any exact How-To's, I'd greatly appreciate it. Prompt response is needed, I'm working on this as we speak. Thanks...

Notice the bolt on the left behind the heatshield.

The turbos can come off with out taking off the exhaust manifold. Take them off then get the manifold. 10mm nuts hold the heat sheild on.

I need to get the whole assembly off, your post didn;t make any sense to me. I know how the heat shield comes off, but I can't get to the bolts that are holding it on up top.

I have to get the WHOLE THING, not just the turbos themselves, keep in mind that I have to strip the engine down to the CORE alone.

Any suggestions...?

Thanks

To get the whole thing off you need to first pull the turbos off. They come off as a whole unit and there will be a mainfold left that is held on by 4 bolts to the engine. Hope this helps,

EXACTLY, HOW DO I GET THE TURBOS OFF, that is the problem. I can't get the whole assembly off. There is a bolt holding it on or something, and I cannot get to it.

Look at the left of the picture you posted. There is an oil line (I think) that's attacked to the turbo and it's still bolted on.

Take the oil line bolts off! Then use a crowbar, if needed, to pry the turbos off.

from looking at your first pix...

try unbolting the two lines under the turbo...

then remove the black hose (coolant)...

and then unbolt the metal clamp that you cant really see behind the oil tube (smallest red circle)

gd luck
