how to flush oil coolers

ok as title says.. ho do i flush the oil coolers (dual stock setup)

why? the rotor bearing are completely gone, just finished disassemble my engine and it's not good, eccentric shaft and a bunch of other stuff need replacing.

So I'm pretty sure all the flakes are somewhere in the coolers.

any idea?

Agreed....

I would consider having them tanked or pressure cleaned as a service. I'm sure a radiator rebuild shop could also do this.

I wouldn't use them, period. When a bearing goes you get very small shavings throughout the system and even aircraft cleaning systems can't get them clean all the time. If you don't get all the shavings they will chew up the new bearings in short order. It usually is the back bearing. The motor will last a couple thousand miles before it goes.

is there any specific proceedure on how to fill the system with oil ? or simply turn the key and start the car?
when you install an engine after a rebuild and these new oil coolers , the system is completely dry.
is it ok for the engine to start?

I would remove the EFI fuse and crank it over enouph to get the oil moving around the system. Check your oil level, and then start it.

Doesn't the oil flow from the front cover through the oil fiter before it ever reaches the bearings... seems as though Mazda may have though about this a bit. I think getting them cleaned will be just fine, the filter will take care of the rest.
