how does this work?

This is probably a stupid question... but how does the stock BOV work?... i've always thought that the BOV makes that noise when you shift gears.. .. but mine seems to go off as im driving.. for example, in a single gear the BOV would go make the noise 2 times.. and it doesn't make the noise when i shift... Im alittle confused.. thanks for the help everyone..

Are you hearing the ABV or CRV? (Both are blowoff valves). The ABV should vent when the secondary is prespooling, and I believe it shuts just before 4500rpm and stays shut the rest of the way. The CRV is the one that vents on throttle let-off, so if you're hearing that then something is wrong.

Damn. A chance to drive another FD and Im in San Antonio instead of Houston. There are Houston 7 owners that would be glad to help you out though.

Shoot, I got those backwards. The CRV vents during secondary prespool (3500-4500rpm), and the ABV vents at throttle let-off.

In this picture: http://www.autosportracetech.com/RX-...BigPicture.htm the CRV is shown - it's the one with that connects to the airbox with the longer hose. The ABV is the one with the shorter hose that connects to the middle of the y-pipe.

Do you have a boost gauge? You should.

A 3rd gear boost test will tell you if it's working right. (3rd gear boost test = at 35mph/3rd gear, floor it. Boost should be 10psi, and make a quick dip to 8psi at 4500rpm. After 4500, it will stay at 10psi all the way up to redline, which is about 80mph. This is called a 10-8-10 boost pattern)

Hm. Works fine for me. If the error page mentions a "dns error", just try again later; those are usually temporary.

To fix it, you replace the leaking part. Usually it's a rubber coupler.

To drive on it usually isn't a big deal, but don't pile up too many miles since in theory you can overrev your turbos and wear out the bearings.

Stock turbos use oil bearings...
