Well, I've been driving around for three days now after doing this mod and I like it. But the only thing is that when I'm gentle on the throttle and easing it up to ~3000RPM I can hear the BOV purging air continuously, as if there was a leak. When I'm heavy on the throttle it doesn't sound until I let off the trottle or when the RPMs hit around 4000-4500 at which point it'll purge. Did any of you notice this too after doing this mod?

I have the same problem and I don't think it is a good thing. I am just waiting for my aftermarket BOV to come in. It is not supposed to vent air unless there is a pressure difference between the different sides of the throtlebody (less boost on the engine side).

I had an aftermarket BOV that didn't work and didn't vent at all and there was way more low end power. So I would say that your stock BOV is hooped.

Daemon, sorry if i missunderstood ya, i guess i read yer last post the wrong way. No harm at all for my illiteracy

As for the bov and crv valves bleeding off air, i noticed that as well when i originally did the mod last year. Basically, if your feathering the throttle, there could/is some boost building, and what not, and the bov (or crv, im not sure) bleeds off that excess boost bc its not being used, since the throttle is only being feathered. But if you indeed stomp it, the bov shuts and all o fthe boost gets put to use. but now, its either i dont notice it, or im used to it.

I also remember reading somewhere that the stock bov sucks air in when idling bc of the vacuum and what not, so i just had a breather plugged to the end of the bov. im not too sure if there is any truth about that, but i remember reading it somewhere here in the forums when i first got my FD. and my personal theory, its better to err on the side of caution.

I also heard/read somewhere that someone else suggested putting a sorta breather/filter on the stock BOV. Will one of those faucet caps do the trick? You know those metal ring/caps with the metal screen that you screw onto the bottom of your tap where the water comes out? I haven't checked but that looks to be about the size if not a tad bigger. Just an idea.

Hey RedR1, no harm done. Sounds like your mod is working out though - I think that's a good idea that you put a filter on it because you never know what could get in the line anyway.
