How do u use a aftermarket boost controller with the Power FC
I am really sick and tired of trying to find the right boost setting with the pfc how do u set the pfc and then how do u controll the other boost controller.
thanks
thanks
Just set the boost level on the PowerFC high enough that you won't trigger the overboost (fuel or ignition) cut. Actually, perhaps it doesn't have an overboost cut-out, but I thought I read that it did. It might just flash the exhaust overheat light. Whatever the case, just set the PowerFC boost levels at or above whatever boost you really plan to run.
The PowerFC boost contol kit includes a boost control solenoid, so it doesn't use the stock ones. However, you will use the PowerFC to set the boost level with this kit. Last I heard, it wasn't available anymore. It would be nice to keep the "electronic box count" down with this kit if you can get one, but I have not heard much about how well it works.
Otherwise, you can just buy a stand-alone boost controller like the GReddy Profec B, A'PEXi AVC-R, Blitz, Home Depot, etc. and install it as you normally would. It doesn't have any direct interaction with the PowerFC.

It's pretty easy. Much easier than AVC-R. Only 2 wires for you to hook up (+ and ground) and the rest is vacuum line plumbing like the rest of the boost controllers.

I had a Profec B before the power fc and still use the profec to control boost. It hasn't affected anything--I just have the pfc boost set at 1.05 so I won't experience any problems.

Just set the boost to 1 kg/cm2. The boost cut will come in by 1.25 kg/cm2 which is not going to happen with the stock map sensor because it only reads up to 1.2 kg/cm2.
So just go to the boost setting. High light the 1st boost setting and set the primary and secondary to 1.0 kg/cm2. Don't worry about the solenoid duty cycle because the stock solenoid will not control the boost anymore.

I have tried different settings including the settings in the manual. Finally yesterday I set
80 66
90 62
This worked. I would hit fuel cut after I shift into 3rd. I think it was at transition. before I had 90 on my first and 80 on 2nd , my logic is that the turbo was boosting more than 80 when the 2nd turbo kicked in and triggered the fuel cut. IT looks like this worked. I ran 2 runs in a row no fuel cut. my power FC registered .85 as my boost.
I dunno, it kinda sucks.

The thread is about using an aftermarket boost controller with Power FC. You can set the boost level at any boost you want but it's the aftermarket boost controller that controls the actual boost. The Power FC boost setting is only used to set the boost cut in this scenario.
