How do the injector connectors disconnect?
Feeling a little stupid for asking, but struggling to disconnect an injector. Trying to disconnect the rear-most secondary injector to hopefully allow me to move the engine harness over just a little to access/see the coolant line nipple on the rear iron. I 'think' the tab to disconnect is facing down and there's not even room for me to get a mirror in there to see exactly how it disconnects. I've tried pinching and using a pick to push out without any luck. A little afraid to start forcing things too much. I haven't been in this deep under the manifold for a while. Someone have a picture of the connector or any insight/pointers from those who have done this more than once...years ago, like me? What am I missing?

Thanks guys.
Yeah...don't remember seeing any 'C' clip. Fat fingers and little room, but I'll keep at it and try the "push tab in, push down then pull" method.

Just a regular press release clip connector, I think I use a pryer to press the clip since it is on the back side, and use a small screw driver to push the connector off. Start off with little force on the pryer, slowly increase it till the connector move.

I replaced the injector pigtails about eight years ago during a rebuild, but agree...I didn't want to force anything too much. Never did get it disconnected but managed to work around it. If I'd been willing to spend a lot more time pulling crap off maybe...but a few naughty words, a couple draws on a cigar and I moved on.

if you look at the the forward secondary injector, its the same clip thats on all the injectors. i dont have any pictures of the plug but the press part of the plug does in fact face down as you stated. its a tight fit. if you have a long flathead you can gently pry on the side of the plug against the injector as you press it and it should release.

You can carefully use a small flat blade screwdriver to get the leverage to depress any stuck tabs...... on original clips this has a good chance of breaking them however. I have an old tiny dampening adjustment tool from my super old school Tanabe Sustec-Pro coilovers that works perfectly
