Okay so I'll let the picture speak by itself.

Here is the culprit

There are inserts for cars without foglights (base, R package). The one with less plastic is the foglight bracket/insert. That only came on the Touring cars.

Any knowledge concerning the similar looking plastic insert that goes in the passenger side front brake duct opening? Anyone?

As far as what? The cars that don't have a passenger oil cooler have a black plastic block off in that hole. No big whoop.
