I use a socket with the same size diameter, gently tap it in with a rubber mallet. make sure you put some insulation between the contact of the socket to the pilot bearing. The bearing is I think copper and easy to be deformed if it's pounded too hard.

My first question is how did you get the old one out?
Without a special Mazduh tool it is just about impossible to do without damaging something..........If it was damaged you might be wasting your time putting in a new one.

you can get the old one out with a bearing puller or puller on a slide hammer , if you do not have the correct puller get a die grinder and small stone and cut the bearing out , the shell is steel not copper . Clean the hole oil the new bearing and tap it in with a socket ,grease the rollers and tap in the seal

To help installation, I freeze the bearing in the freezer overnight and then take it out of there and immediately install it. I use a socket as my "driver" to pound it in there with the hammer. Use some grease too.
