While I'm all about building your own parts, building an intercooler system of the ebay special of the week makes me REAL leary. I don't buy intercoolers or cores if they aren't either a. well documented or b. have percise information about them.

from Indian:

"I'm going with the R core four inch because I'll be boostin 15spi normally and maybe 25-27 on race day."

Were do you race with Ca-mon'ions? east end? Better not be a road race with greddy2 and tanks blocking the radiator.

NA Kevin, We have a track here that should be completed by easter. It's a Full concrete professional Pad.Actually, it looks like we might have two! :S . By the way, have you seen some of the beast rolling around in Cayman lately, 800hp Skylines,750hp Supras, 800hp Mustangs!!, Its a friging war zone on this island. We even have hondas Dynoing around 400+whp here now. yes there is a dyno. And SomeOne did put down a 10.3 and a 9.9 at east end!! I'd be scared to **** senseless to do that but Its been done.Dont worry, about what I'm gonna do with the power, I love my Rx too much to bring that kinda harm to her.

Hey chuck, is your intercooler 31.5 inchs long or 30.5? Does anyone sell one thats around 28-29 inches in lenght? Just thinking on getting something that fits without have to adjust the oil coolers.

Not sure on the exact length. I will get back with you later tonight.

Notice no BOV? 18 months ago when my friend bought this car, one of the twins was bad. He had a S5 Hyflow so we put it on. Been that way since then. No problems. Not even a air filter!!

Took some pic of three differant intercooler cores. You can see a big differance between the spearco, trust and SSAC.

Looks like the spearco is the best as far as cooling and flow. The SSAC looks like it will flow more/or faster becasue of the lack of internal cooling fins. But will not cool as good as the Trust and Spearco. BUT,,,, The SSAC has more surface air to cool the incoming air. SSAC has 12x4=48" of cooling surface and is 24" long. My Trust has 11x4=44" of cooling surface and is 16" long. I've seen the Trust core used on some 500hp cars. I'm looking at areound 450hp and think the SSAC will do good. I'm in for 350$ with the SSAC install and could sale the Trust intercooler for 500$....???
Theres so much to think about as fas as which one is better, (for what, HP vs price vs looks)?

PS. I used two 90deg hose couplers, three U-bends with 6-8" legs, (two had one leg cut off) four strait hose couplers.

thanks for posting that comparison Chuck.... that helps make a decision on IC's. The Spearco definitley looks the best by far.

Good pics, that's what I was trying to describe before with it being an old style core.
