I got lucky a friend of mine had it in his garage for over a year with out touching it. Made him an offer that benifited both us.

Cool. Lots of ideas to consider..

As far as finding one by now is I'm willing to travel.. I haven't found one like I'm looking for.

I'm being very picky with this.. essentially I've got 2 requirements: 5spd and sunroof.. other than that, it'd be nice to have a bose setup and leather and such, but that's bells and whistles..

The real problem I'm having is every RX-7 I run across has at least a couple 1000$ in mods (which I'd prefer to do myself anyway) and they're out of my price range... I'm really hoping to find a non-modded, decent condition but engine on it's last legs RX-7 for 13.5$k or under.. although I could potentially go higher. Depends on what I can get for my 2001 Nissan Altima GXE LE with jack **** miles on it and what I've got laying around..

I wanted a white FD and I knew there were none in MN as white is rare(only in '94). So I checked the internet and found one in Detriot. Fly there and bought it and drove back non-stop 730 miles in 9.5 hours to MN.

craigslist, paid 9g's for mine, runs/drives perfect, just a little TPS problem, no biggy, and a few tlc, like a door panel, side mirror screw loose, u know, random things.

Read my how to buy an FD guide -

http://www.clubrx.org/default.asp?id...ntent=25&mnu=5

Big thing is you really need to be willing to drive a long ways for the *right* car, unless you live in SoCal or something. It's really not that hard to find the right FD, but you really need to sit down and figure out exactly what you want then start looking.

I was trying to buy a 240 sx, having a local car dealership bid on it for me, so I gave them 1500 cash towards that. got outbid (I hope the dumbass that paid 6,000 for an 89 240 with 230,000 miles is ****** happy). they called me, told me that I was out bid, went back to get my money back, saw the FD in the parking lot, and said "SOLD!" and that was that, long story short.

+1 for autotrader. the touring has a sunroof and factory bose so if you find one you'll find both. I paid 12k for mine with lots of miles but a fresh rebuild and some parts that hadn't been installed yet.

Speedforsale.com 's also another option to consider. They seem to really know the cars they sale. They feature some really good info. in each listing concerning maintenance history and such.

They have a dedicated FD section with some nice looking listings to check out. Only thing is that they're national, so you might not find one near you right away, but like I said, it's just another option to browse over whenever

I contacted them last Summer when I was in the market for an '94 and the reply was nothing but helpful and to the point.

Here's a link to the FD section:

I got my from Auto auction. got it for $6900, spend another 1.5g. guess what? Runs good. I mean if you can work on you own FD, it save you a lot of labor. Owning a FD it require you to take really good care of it. Also I find one thing really helpful is check out the FOR SALE CLASSIFIEDS. that will save you a lot of money.

Autotrader. Rode a Greyhound bus 1000 miles from Vegas to Montana to get it too.

Found mine on cars.com about 2 miles away from my house while i was just messing around on the internet.

Called Nissan and canceled my order for a 350Z and bought the FD instead.

HOLY THREAD RESUCITATION!!!

I searched for mine at tons of places online and finally found it in Autotrader. After weeks of back and forth emails, pics, etc I took a one way flight to Dallas and drove her back to Detroit!
