How did you find your 3rd gen?

I've been after an RX-7 for a couple of years now.. just kept talking myself out of it for some reason. I finally decided that I'm going to sell my silly Nissan and try and find myself a '93 RX-7... but I can't seem to find anywhere to look but ebay, autotrader.com, and a couple of random RX-7 boards.

Driving isn't an issue.. I'm just trying to find something inexpensive that needs work but still has some life left in it.

Check the "RX7s for Sale" forum here and stay after ebay, the autotraders and the partstrader. Don't neglect your local newspapers either. Good luck.

I used www.classifieds2000.com but the layout is different now. Also try www.cars.com somtimes kinda hard to find a good deal but at least you have more options.

Yahoo sucks. They charge money for listings now. Cars.com is how I found mine. A lot of dealers use cars.com. Autotrader.com is pretty good too.

I got lucky. I mow yards on the side during the summer and it just so happened that one of the guy's yards I mow had an RX-7. After a while he decided to sell it due to a baby on the way. Paid $11,650 for it. Only had 67k miles

I used Autotrader.com I looked on here but never found the right one. Ebay was also a good place to look. I sold my old car on ebay and bought my new one on autotrader.

I went to dallas to check out this red fd. It had a couple of things wrong with it, i.e. a cracked windshield. I came back to san antonio and called a few numbers to see how much it was going to cost to replace it. One number I called, ask why did I need it. I told him the story and he said well we have a few fd's here. I asked is it automatic or 5 speed, he said 5 speed. Is it a 94' R2 model, yes it is. Whats the color, black on black. Perfect!! I went to go check it out and it was a mint. Got it for 15,900 on a fresh motor and a fresh set of twins at 90k. Bought it the next week. I think fait brought me to this car...LOL.Bought it from Alamo rotary. Tito(shop owner) has a 20b w/ nitrous pushing I believe 750 hp.

I bought a Lexus GS300 from eBay, but it was local to me, so I was able to check it out thoroughly. All of the sites listed above are great for finding FD's but also check out LA Motorcars, here in Dallas. Lance specialized in 3rd generation RX-7's.

I found my car on autotrader. It was also on Classifieds2000.

www.thepartstrader.com
www.ebay.com
this forum
www.classifieds2000.com

other than that, there isnt much out there. I would think if "driving isnt an issue" you would have one by now. FDs are rare, but if you are willing to travel, you will likely come across a nice one

Mine found me. I was looking for a 300ZX, then my dad bought a RX7. After he had it, I still wanted the Z, then I drove the RX7. I said "forget the Z" and bought the RX7 from my dad.

I got mine off ebay, no one bidded on it, and I went to take a look at it, bought it after the listing expired.

It was a 4 hour drive.. SF to Fresno, 6 hour bus ride to pick it up.
