how did that get there?

There was a green rubberband on my ABS distribution thing. The lines would hve had to be disconnected for it to be put on. So My question is: Is that there from the factory, or has mine been worked on by somebody. I guess it would be a good thing to know if the unit has been replaced or something.

The rubberband was baked and it broke off, and it didnt show in the picture good. Nothing an amature cant fix in paint.

Thanks guys. The car has 102,000 miles on it, so its hard to believe that its been hanging in there for 15 years and that many miles. I got the car with 80,000 and never really noticed it before.
Has anyone with a low milage car see one of those on their unit?

I have 30K miles on mine and don't have a rubber band. Although I am the second owner so maybe the 1st owner took it off. LOL

It's sounding more and more like maybe my proprtioning valve came out at some time. Strange that someone would put a rubber band on there though.

My frist thought is that a mechanic may have put the band there to hold some other part out of the way while working. However, with the brake lines there I'm not sure if that's even possible.
