How to clean Intercooler Couplers?

The blue couplers that came with my Greddy FMIC are now filthy black, and the only blue can be seen under the clamps. I have tried about every product under my sink to get these clean, but had no luck. Anyone cleaned them before? Any suggestions on products that will pull the grime out of them? Thanks.

Might be a little harsh, but i'd bet brake cleaner will clean them right up.

Hmm... I've tried Brake Cleaner, Engine Degreaser and Simple Green. Guess nothing is going to work. Bah.

And also take the chance of swelling the coupler.. Brake cleaner and rubber/silicon materials do not go good together. Just a word of caution!......

Simple green works OK but only until you start driving your car again. A better , not as cheap of an option is to replace them with the real silicon type coupler that has a shinier surface( for lack of better description) The don't let the dirt and engine dust "bed into" the coupler like the greddy ones do. I hated the way they looked after the first week of driving...

Even the shiny Sparco ones get some grime on them... it's easier to get off, I'm sure, but my stut bar seems to rub or somehow gather sutt right on one of those suckers... I gave up... I'll just replace it after a couple of years...

use castrol super cleaner. get a small non wire brush spray it on for a minute or 2 and use the brush on it after with hot water. repeat a few times. I cleaned one last week and it worked great you could hardly see the line where the clamps were any more. I also used to use that stuff to clean my bumper from the exhaust soot. soap and water wouldnt work but it would almost come off when I just sprayed that stuff on there.
