C'mon relax here.. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you just post about your clogged cat!!
What's the saying.. do as I say not as I do.

GlenRX7, why don't you pull the cat, get yourself a flashlight and look into the cat. If the bricks are broken then you need a new cat.

what info you looking for? whats wrong with your car maybe? mods?

you would get responsive replys if you post "hey im having this problem." then add "could it be my cat?".. Anyway.. why do you ask? Did you just want to know in general how to see if a cat is clogged?

(for anyone that can help)I have a a motor with 80k just went though all the rubber hose and vacuum lines and replaced new plugs, plug wires gaskets ext, I added a ypipe down pipe new koyo rad and a pre spool and manual boost controls running 10 8 10. Wel i have a problem with my idle , my vacuum and I am getting inconsistant boost. well i have the stock cat and cat back. The compression on my motor is low but even and in spec. If you take it to a muffler shop or have access to a pyrometer, you can measure the temps directly in front of and behind the cat. A clogged cat usually has a large temperature difference since it's not letting anything through.

^^^^^^^ Good advise!

You said you had boost controllers on the turbos.. did it do it when you didnt have them on? and obviously you havent heard any leaks.. when you say they are inconsistant.. elaborate a lil for me. i had a simliar issue where power dropped off and boost dropped off when the ar got hot. was due to a vaccum hose heating up and becoming softer and collapsing.

Also, if your having vaccum issues then that is indicitive (sp?) of either

1.) Motor done

2.) Vaccum leak after the TB

does it rev fine? Whats your idle at? Does your car "hunt" for an idle point?.

-undo the bolts where it mounts to the downpipe
-get a flashlight and shine into the cat while peaking in there
- if you seen what looks like mesh, its probably not clogged yet.
- if it looks kinda like a drain clogged up with coffee grains, then its clogged/clogging. in extreme cases you'll have parts of catalyst material breaking off in the pipe.
