How can I power an odometer or cluster without it being in a FD?

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can power the odometer on a FD cluster without it being in the car? Looking at a car that has taken a hit and has already been robbed of some parts mostly electrical stuff. Anyway just need to get it to light up so I can see the mileage on the motor and car itself. Any help would be great!!

Seems like you could just hook it to a ground, and a positive wire from any car.
